Today, “world music” is the name given to music that isn’t pop, or jazz, or something else, but traditional music – and this is a combination of many things. It reminds us of something that we’ve lost, something that rests on a powerful musical tradition, the modern sound of the Balkans.
This is really authentic music, a genuine merak (‘pleasure derived from simple joys’) that comes out of nowhere, dazzles you slowly, stirs up sevdah (an old word meaning ‘a yearning for love’) and leads to an evening full of fun. And when it’s gone, you’re terribly sorry that it isn’t there anymore. Music exists all around the world and belongs to the whole world. The idea of “world music” is simple and means exactly that.

The story began in 2005 in the small commune of BORGOROSE in the Province of Rieti when Leonardo di Vincenzo started a microbrewery with the hope of making a departure from dull commercial beers. Very soon afterwards, in cooperation with a Dogfish master brewer, these masterpieces of the beer industry saw the light of day.
